Gulf Coast United Coaching Philosophy
At Gulf Coast United Futbol Club we will endeavor to teach the game of soccer in a fun and challenging environment for all of our players.
At the younger age groups there will be a emphasis placed on technical skill development or player development instead of winning at all cost. We believe small sided games is the key to player development. we will attempt to win every game we play but by teaching them to play more of an attractive possession style than a kick and run approach to the game.
For the U14s and up we will form our most talented teams and place them in increasingly challenging environments in order to compete regionally. Tactical decision making will be developed to attack and defend as a team where in the younger ages tactical development will be limited to 1v1 and small group situations.
We will choose a system of play that best fits our players abilities instead of making them fit into a particular system.
The GCUFC youth development philosophy is to create an environment of competitive soccer in which our players will develop individually and as a team by sharing our knowledge and love of the game.
